Spider Control

There are several spider species that can be found in the Southeast. Most of the spiders that are commonly found in our area don’t pose a threat to humans, but are more of a nuisance. Some of these spiders include that common house spider, wolf spider and many more. At Mike’s Pest Control, it is our goal to keep spiders out of your home so that you aren’t dealing with the obnoxious webs that they seem to leave in corners and crevices throughout your home and the dangers some venomous spiders pose. There are two spiders that are found in Greater Birmingham, Alabama that are venomous and should be avoided: the black widow and brown recluse.

Black Widow Spider Facts

Black widows are easily distinguished by their jet black bodies and the bright red hourglass shape that is found on their abdomen. These spiders create messy webs and their bites are painful. If you find that you have black widows on your property, you can rely on Mike’s Pest Control to get rid of them. It is important to leave it up to our team of highly trained professionals so that you can avoid their painful bite.

Brown Recluse Spiders

Brown recluse spiders are common called fiddle-back spiders because they have a dark brown shape on their back in the shape of a fiddle. These spiders lurk in the shadows and don’t want to interact with anyone, hence the name recluse. Their bite is especially painful and usually require medical attention.
